BLUFFTON, SC - Rosalind Burnett Harris, 50, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her Bluffton, SC, home on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Mount Pisgah A.M.E. Church, 170 Witherspoon St., Princeton, at 12 noon. Calling will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at the Princeton Cemetery immediately following the service. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.

Ms. Harris attended public schools in Hamilton Township, graduating from Hamilton High-West. She majored in journalism at Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, where she met and married her husband, Harland Harris, of Pittsburgh, PA. Ms. Harris entered the field of retail sales and fine cosmetics in which she worked until stricken by her illness. She lived the final four years of her life with her true love, Stephen Deutch, with whom she shared a loving, peaceful life.

Ms. Harris was preceded in death by her father, Zaron W. Burnett Sr., formerly of Hamilton Township, and is survived by her mother, Johnsie Broadway Burnett of Columbia, MD.; a son, Jarreau R. Harris of Tallahassee, FL, and brothers, Errol S. Burnett and Zaron W. Burnett Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Irving S. Burnett of Trenton and Douglas W. Burnett Sr. of Columbia, MD. She is mourned by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends, whose lives will forever be brightened by the memory of this cherished loved one and a special aunt with whom she was very close, Frances B. Craig, of Princeton.
